“In each of us dwells a wanderer, a gypsy, a pilgrim. The purpose here is to call forth that spirit. What matters most on your journey is how deeply you see, how attentively you hear, how richly the encounters are felt in your heart and soul.”
~ Phil Cousineau
The definition of pilgrimage is, “a journey, especially to a shrine or a sacred place.”
I do believe our entire life is a pilgrimage, a journey of our soul making our way back home, to the peace and divinity that resides within her own hearts.
An outer pilgrimage to a sacred earth spot mirrors our inner journey and supports us on our spiritual path.
It is an opportunity to completely focus on ourselves, the ultimate “me time.” Don’t we all have things we are “working on,” the past and worry of the future we want let go of, people and situations we want to forgive?
I certainly always want to be happier, to open myself up to more love and healing, to awaken to the truth within myself, and to continuously live in this truth.
So this is our prayer, our intention as we move through our pilgrimage. It, most likely, will be challenging, you may get lost and encounter difficult situations, but such is life. If we press on, filled with faith and are open to the signs and lessons along the way, we do reach our destination with a renewed sense of faith and compassion for ourselves and others.
