This was my husband’s and mine first vacation in 10 years! It was just what we needed, we appreciated the blend of alone time as well as spending time with the others in the group. We loved all of the chosen hotels and the freedom we felt while walking this sacred path.
Itinerary
Note – The following itinerary is a sample of the places we will see, but things may change, we will defer to our expert guide for best places, times and days according to weather and whatever he thinks is best.
Day 1
Welcome to Ireland!
We meet in Dublin, where we will have a casual dinner and meet our fellow travelers.
Day 2
Included today is short walking tour dubbed, the wolfhound experience, sure to be very unique and fun! The rest of the day is yours to explore .
Ireland’s capital, a vibrant blend of history and modernity. Must-sees include the Guinness Storehouse, where you’ll learn the story of Ireland’s iconic beer and enjoy panoramic city views. Explore St. Patrick’s and Christ Church Cathedrals, both steeped in history and architectural beauty. Don’t miss Kilmainham Gaol, a former prison central to Ireland’s struggle for independence, and the lively
Temple Bar district for music and nightlife.
Days 3 & 4
After breakfast in Dublin, we have a 90 minute drive to Kilkenny.
We will spend 2 days and nights here exploring one of Ireland‘s most charming and well preserved magical medieval towns. Kilkenny Is often described as a cultural hub, blending its medieval past with a lively contemporary scene. We will be touring the Kilkenny Castle, one of Ireland’s most iconic castles, which has been meticulously restored, and now a major attraction.
We will also embark on a short boat ride on the river Nore, to see this beautiful town from the water.
There will be plenty of time to walk the riverbank and the medieval mile, visit famous cathedrals, and also try out many of the great pubs and restaurants.
Days 5 & 6
About a 2 Hour drive this morning to Kinsale in County Cork, a charming, historical port and fishing town, with its colorful streets, stunning coastline and bustling Harbor this town is described as funky and fun!If you’re in the mood for a walk or hike, there are many to choose from here, one is a 5 mile walk, the Sicily walk, which starts in town and takes us to Charles Fort a late 17 century star shaped fort with incredible views.
Afterwards, a well-deserved pint and lunch in one of the many pubs here is a must!
Kinsale is known as the foodie capital of Ireland, where the innovative chefs focus on local ingredients…. my kind of town! An option here is to do a walking food tour, a walking meal, where you hear stories about the cuisine and meet some fascinating characters along the way. We will be taking reservations for the food tour when you sign up for the trip… $125. Not in the mood for walking or a food tour? They are plenty of beautiful places to relax and take in the views. Great boutique shopping here as well.
Day 7
Today we head to Killarney, which will be our home for 3 nights, as there is much to see and do! On our way we will explore the highlights and hidden gems of the Ring of Kerry, an 111 mile circular route on the Iveragh Peninsula. With its quaint towns, amazing views and walks, our day will be full before arriving in yet another charming town, Killarney.Day 8
Today we explore the Dingle Peninsula with beauty everywhere you look!
The Dingle Peninsula is a place where wild Atlantic waves crash against ancient shores, fairy forts whisper old legends, and every twist of the Slea Head Drive reveals a new postcard-perfect vista—complete with sheep that seem to pose for photos and roadside cafés serving hot chowder with a side of banter.
A stop for lunch and a stroll in Dingle town will be a delight.
Day 9
Today we have many choices!
- Walk the vibrant town center filled with colorful shops, galleries, pubs and restaurants.
- Book a spa treatment.
- Visit Killarney National Park, which is a true gem with so much to see and explore such as
Muckross House w/ gorgeous gardens and lakes - Torc Waterfall with walking trails
- Gap of Dunloe, a highlight for hikers
- Killarney Falconry
Enjoy our final night in Killarney.
Days 10 & 11
Our final day with our driver, we head to our last stop, Galway.
En route we visit the Cliffs of Moher, one of Ireland’s most iconic natural landmarks, soaring up to 214 meters (about 700 feet) above the Atlantic Ocean along the west coast in County Clare. They stretch for roughly 14 kilometers from Liscannor in the south to Doolin in the north. The cliffs are part of the Burren and Cliffs of Moher UNESCO Global Geopark and serve as a Special Protected Area for birds and wildlife, home to over 30,000 birds from 35 species, including puffins and razorbills.
Onto Galway for our remaining time together….
Located on the River Corrib, known for its bohemian and lively atmosphere, Galway is famous for traditional Irish music, colorful cobbled streets, and a thriving arts and cultural scene. The city hosts many festivals such as the Galway International Arts Festival, Galway Oyster Festival, and Galway Races, making it a lively destination year-round.
Galway is also recognized as a foodie city, with a focus on local ingredients and seafood, and was named the European Region of Gastronomy in 2018. It is the only city on the Wild Atlantic Way, the scenic coastal route we have been exploring, and offers a mix of historic charm and modern culture with plenty of pubs, shops, galleries, and theaters.
Day 12
Onward travel….. continue on or fly out of Shannon or Dublin.
We can book a private ride to either location.

A $500 deposit is required to secure your space. This deposit is non-refundable unless you or we can fill your spot. In this event, 75% will be refunded. Or it can be applied 1 time to another trip with Winn Journeys.
Payment plans are available. After the $500 deposit, payment must be made in three payments with final payment due 60 days ahead of the trip.
Cancellation Fees
46-60 days prior to trip: 50% of the trip price will be refunded
31-45 days prior to trip: 25% of the trip price will be refunded
0-30 days prior to trip: no refund
Due to any unforeseen circumstances, Winn Journeys has the right to change the listed itinerary. If a substitution is needed, we will always substitute with something equal or better.
Travel insurance is highly recommended, we use Allianz.
Roommates
We will be happy to work with you to find a suitable roommate for those who are traveling alone and would like to share a room. Per our Terms and Conditions, registration for the tour will be held open until 30 days before the departure date in order to try to match everyone with a roommate. If by that date we have not been able to match you with a suitable roommate, you will be responsible to pay for the single supplement.

The suppliers providing transportation, sightseeing arrangements and hotel accommodations for the tour program are independent contractors and are not agents or employees of Winn Journeys. All coupons, receipts, and tickets issued are subject to the terms and conditions specified by suppliers. By utilizing the service of the suppliers, you agree that Winn Journeys will not be liable for any change in schedule, strikes, delay, acts of governments, fires, riots, theft, pilferage, epidemics, quarantine, medical or customs regulations, accident, loss, injury, or damage to you or to those traveling with you in connection with any accommodations, transportation or any other services or resulting directly or indirectly from any occurrence or conditions beyond its control, including defects in vehicles, breakdown in equipment, thefts, delay or cancellation of or changes in itinerary for any act, omission, or event during our time together.
Winn Journeys and suppliers contracted for services reserve the right to refuse to accept or retain any person whose behavior is deemed likely to affect the smooth operations of a tour or adversely affect the enjoyment or safety of other passengers. Winn Journeys shall be under no liability to any such person for refund, compensation, repatriation or any other matters arising. Winn Journeys is not responsible for circumstances beyond its control. Trip cancellations resulting from the inability for trip to depart as scheduled, such as cancellations due to acts of war and/or terrorism, war, God, or nature.
Tour Cancellation By Operator: Be clearly advised that from time to time a tour departure may be canceled due to lack of participation. In such a case, the operator’s sole responsibility is to provide a full refund.
